The Information and Referral Unit is the entry point for Lehigh County Human Services departments. We provide information about Lehigh County Department of Human Services and information about community resources. Professional Caseworkers will ask questions about yourself, or, the needs of the person you are calling about. Options for getting help may be discussed. Staff will make the determination whether a referral requires further assessment and may either refer you to a community agency, or, complete a formal referral to a Human Services specialized office (Aging and Adult Services, Children and Youth, Mental Health, Developmental Programs or Early Intervention). Employees respond to telephone calls, walk in requests, and, Emails. Walk-in hours are 8:30AM to 4:15PM, Monday through Friday-- no appointment is needed.
