Attention!

ATTENTION

To All LTCF and gun owners,

Attached please find some valuable information regarding TSA security requirements when traveling.  It is important to note even as a valid LTCF permit holder, you are prohibited from ingress to a TSA checkpoint if armed.  Firearms may only be transported, unloaded, in a locked hard-sided container in your checked baggage.  You must also declare your firearm in your checked baggage, to airline personnel.

Violations can result in criminal as well as substantial civil penalties.

As Sheriff of Lehigh County, any violation of the above by a Lehigh County LTCF permit holder will be reviewed by me, independent of any other investigative agency, and a determination will be rendered solely by me.

A Message from Lehigh County Sheriff Joe Hanna

Tunnels To Towers Foundation

On Tuesday August 31st I was afforded the privilege and honor of meeting Frank Siller, CEO of Tunnels To Towers Foundation and walking with him briefly on his Never Forget Walk. On September 11, 2001 Frank’s brother Stephen, a NYFD firefighter, responded to the World Trade Center and was one of the heroes lost that day to the terrorist attack. Stephen left a wife and five children.

To honor Stephen’s memory and those who lost their lives that day, Frank started the Tunnels to Towers Foundation. The foundation pays off the mortgages or provides homes to families of fallen first responders and military. To date the foundation has closed on over 400 homes.

Frank is taking part in a six-week walk from the Pentagon to the World Trade Center. He will conclude his 537 mile trek on September 11, 2021 marking the 20th anniversary of the attack.

Click here for the link to the Tunnels to Towers website. I encourage those of you, who are able, to donate to this most worthy cause.

-Sheriff Joe Hanna

Additionally, through the donations of the Deputies, he was presented with assorted gifts and a gift card for Toys Are Us. He visited with Lehigh County Court of Common Pleas President Judge, the Honorable Edward D. Reibman.

Following a brief lunch, he was given a ride in Sheriff Hanna's patrol vehicle and visited with firefighters at one of the Allentown Fire Bureau Firehouses.

Kaleb's favorite subject is Science. He likes to watch Scooby-Doo and enjoys spending time building Legos with his mother Janelle, father Gordon, and his siblings Colleen and Janeen.
He loves music and his favorite song is "Best Day of my life" by American Authors.

Sheriff Hanna commented " The men and women of the Lehigh County Sheriff's Office have been exemplary in their generosity and compassion...our mission today is to make this a memorable occasion for Kaleb and to put a smile on his face".
