CHIP

CHIP Program

If you are a working parent who needs health coverage for your children, but you make too much for Medical Assistance to cover them, apply for CHIP.  This is a health insurance plan that can cover many PA children (ages birth through 18) at no or very low cost.  The children must be U.S. citizens or lawful aliens to be eligible.  Don't assume CHIP isn't for you.  Many people do, and it's a mistake.  Leave no room for doubt.  If you're still not sure, call CHIP at 1-800-986-KIDS. With CHIP, you're guaranteed access to qualify healthcare for your children--access that may include the doctor your kids see now.  What's more, CHIP covers everything from regular checkups, immunizations, and well-baby visits to emergency care, prescriptions, and dental--just to name a few.  To apply for CHIP, call 1-800-986-KIDS.  They will answer any of your questions and even help you fill out the application. All calls and inquiries are confidential.
