“To review operational processes to ensure they are consistent CASSP principles and develop a template for an Integrated Service Plan for families needing services from multiple systems.”
This committee is focusing on evaluating our current human service system and identifying areas where we can improve our intra department service delivery. These systems include the Information and Referral Unit, Office of Children and Youth Services, Children and Adult Mental Health, Intellectual Disabilities Drug and Alcohol, Health Choices, Juvenile Probation, Adult Probation, Aging and Adult Services and Veterans Affairs. PIT Team 1 developed survey questions and held meetings with the various offices within the Department of Human Services and the Adult and Juvenile Probation Departments to obtain input. Feedback was received in the areas of service delivery, system improvements, and effectiveness of services. The team is currently reviewing this feedback to provide responses and make modifications to improve services. Survey questions will also be sent to providers of service. A consumer telephone survey (Span version) will be conducted. Families and individuals who have received surveys from the Lehigh County Department of Human Services offices and/or the Adult and Juvenile Probation Departments will be randomly called to gather feedback on service delivery, system improvements, and effectiveness of services. Results of the three surveys will be posted in the future. The feedback provided will be evaluated to develop a plan to improve the quality and coordination of services to individuals and families within Lehigh County. The information obtained from the surveys will assist PIT Team 1 in improving how individuals register and receive services and move through the human service system. It will help build a caring system that will be effective in meeting the needs of children and adolescents and their families. PIT Team 1 meets the 3rd Wednesday of the month from 2:30-4:00 PM at the Lehigh County Government Center, 17 South 7th Street in Allentown. If you are interested in sharing your experiences in order to help Lehigh County better provide better services to children and families, or would like to learn more, please call Pat Theodore at (610) 871-1986.
