In accordance with the reporting requirements of Act 88 of 2022, Lehigh County received an unofficial total of 20,206 mail-in ballots and absentee ballots by 8:00 pm on the day of the May 19, 2026 Primary Election.
As voters cast their ballots across Lehigh County today, county officials are sharing details on anticipated tabulation timelines following the close of polls. Members of the media and residents can expect to see results updated as three specific sources of ballots are counted: mail ballots received up until this past Friday, May 15th; ballots cast in-person at county polling locations today; and lastly, mail ballots received between Friday, May 15th thru close of polls today. The county anticipates initial results as early as 8:30pm, with roughly hourly updates to follow.
Earlier this month, county officials communicated with a small number of voters impacted by a clerical error that resulted in them receiving an invalid mail ballot. Every impacted voter was contacted and given guidance on how to cast a valid ballot; and the county has regularly shared updates on mail ballots approved and received. Pennsylvania law has safeguards in place to ensure any ineligible ballots are quickly identified and rejected. Here’s what you need to know about both the voting and tabulation processes today:
