Jordan Creek

Jordan Creek winds through this 269 acre suburban oasis. This park offers a variety of options for active and passive recreation. Much of the park is a wooded area with trails for hiking, jogging, and trail biking at all levels. The area is excellent for bird watching and nature study. The Jordan Creek offers fishing opportunities.  

The Scherersville athletic fields are at the west end of the park along Mauch Chunk Road contain three softball fields and a regulation baseball field. The grass areas of the softball fields are used for youth soccer in the fall. Another regulation baseball field and two multi-purpose fields are located near the Parks’ building on Lehnert Road. The multi-purpose fields are used for cricket, flag football, and other sports. This area also has four tennis courts for citizen use. There are community garden plots along Lehnert Road.

JCP is also the home to an excellent 6000+ foot disc golf course that has hosted the World Disc Golf tournament. The Lehigh Valley Disc Golf Club is a valued partner in course development and maintenance.

The park also has a picnic area along the Jordan Creek. A 32 seat pavilion with grill can be reserved for large picnics.

Jordan Creek Parkway is part of the Jordan Creek Greenway. When completed, the Jordan Creek Greenway and Trail will run from the City of Allentown to the Appalachian Trail.  The sections of the Greenway through JCP are complete.

A Master Site Plan describing future improvements to Jordan Creek Parkway was recently approved.
